Traces of lives, places and purposes that have passed.
The landscape of the Black Country and its surrounding areas is filled with traces of earlier lives. Some are immediately recognisable; others survive almost unnoticed, hidden beneath vegetation, incorporated into newer surroundings or simply left behind.
Vestiges is a photographic exploration of these remnants — objects and structures that have outlived the people, communities and purposes they once served.
Rather than documenting grand monuments or preserved heritage, the series concentrates on the overlooked and the ordinary. A forgotten football ground, a faded advertisement, a solitary railway post or a shopfront briefly revealed after decades of concealment.
Each photograph is an invitation to look more closely at what remains, and to consider what has disappeared.
